Since wellbutrin and antipyschotic both block the reuptake of dopamine is there really in difference in the way they work and their side effect profile?

yes there is because reuptake of dopamine is only part of many different effects on the brain chemistry, including some yet unknown mechanisms. The antipsychotic medications are more powerful and have more side effects and require a much closer medical supervision.
