burning muscle pain

It started in sept. of 98, with burning in my arms, legs and back I had gone to 3 doctors and 1 specialist. they all said it was anxiety depression, but I have nothing to worry about that could cause that. then in Dec of 98 it went away. But only to reoccur in Sept. of 99 and the symptoms are still prosisting to the present date. I am thinking it is a bit more than just anxiety, I have expressed my thoughts to the doctors about M.S. because I do have some of the symptoms and it bothers me alot thinking that they might have overlooked something. what do you think?

Somatization is the process in which one expresses unitentionally(unconscious) depression, anxiety or stress
through somatic(bodily) symptoms. This is a strong possibility
with what you describe. I suggest that you discuss your concerns
of having multiple sclerosis with your personal physician. In the absence of physical signs one would conclude that the orgin of your symptoms are psychological in nature. If this is the case then it might be helpful to have a psychiatric evaluation and treatment.

To: a doctor?
first off I am unsure if I am writing a doctor or possibly someone with the same problems. I am 51 F with 108/62 BP. I work out everyday by walking, the gym, weights alternating. I ususally weight about 142-145 but now am 166 and am 5'2". About 6 months ago made a comment to workout buddies that everytime I work out I feel like it is the FIRST time. My muscles burn, my joints hurt, my feet are tender to walk on.This slowly goes away during the 20-30 minute work out. Then started getting head aches, left side of skull, where neck muscles attach. Then about 8 weeks ago tingling in my lips, right side, of my face. These headaches are low grain, foggy type. I just can't concentrate and my neck crunches when moved side to side. I noticed when I beat eggs my arms burn, or are fatigued.Along with this I have had terrible night sweats. Starts like a ball in my gut and bust running thru my body like someone sprinkled chili powder on me.I am tired, I have itchy rash that is on my big toes, and stomach area and moves. I itch till is almost bleeds, then it dries, scabs and moves to another area. Finally I went to a visiting doctor. ( I live on an island in Alaska and we have 3 reg doctors and a visiting doctor.)He ran a cat scan, blood test, NOTHING> so he felt due to the symtoms I should see a neorogist. I flew ($800.00) to Seattle, had MRI' done but unable to get in to a doctor right away flew home. Then my MRI came back.. white spots, some irregularities in my brain. Back to Seattle ($800,00) another MRI, more blood test, nothing. Everything is pretty clear. My VB12 is 225 so I start on some oral B12 and I have disc disease in my neck (crunching).Nothing to do. I have been started on Ibuprhen 800 mg 3 x d and finally a hormone for the hot flashes both which are helping. I could be just going thru menophase, but if that is the case it is the weirdest, yukiest thing! Massage and physcial therapy helped for the neck pain/skull pain. But like everything it comes and goes. I had seen a another doctor who spent 20 minutes w/me and said get this blood test and call me in 2 weeks. I was so disappiointed. But I just keep plugging along. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know. Thanks SH
