effexor side effects causing illness

Can effexor XR cause side effects of fever, sore throat and general ill feelings? If so, would a reduction from the 300 mg I'm currently taking solve the problem?
                 Thanks

It would probably not cause fever and sore throat, but defintely could contribute to general ill feeling. YOu might want to talk to your doctor about reducing dose on a trial basis.

I have been taking effexor for the last few months and think it's ok, thats after about four other antidepressens.  My worry is will I always be on some drug, or is there a cure, as I don't believe that any drug can cure one of the hurt that caused the problem, I think my Doctor agrees but says they will help.  I had a very bad case of bullying at work, and I find it easerer to blame myself then them[weird to my common sense]but I can't help it.
