how dangerous is drinking on xanax

ive been taking xanax for 12 yrs off and on. i would take them for a few months until i built a tolerence and they didnt work wait a month or 2 then start them again at one point i was up to 6grams a day so i quit for a yr then got back on them off and on and off and so on then about 4 yrs ago i started drinking on xanax and found that i could take a half a gram or 2 grams and enhance the effects and i could take less xanax but now i think im becoming an alcoholic.the xanax doesnt seem to work unless i drink on them.im only 28 but i feel like my vision is getting blurry and i think its f the xanax i also feel depressed and have major anxiety plus exreme mood swings and insomnia if im not taking them.i love xanax they really help me but i feel like they only work now for me if i drink  so how dangerous is it to mix the two and is xanax known to make people have blurry vision i mean even when not on them ? thanks

When you're drinking alcohol and use the medication Xanax you're putting yourself in great jeopardy.  You are using both to deal with your underlying anxiety and this is most likely to lead to addiction to both alcohol and Xanax.  In addition, the combination is additive and can greatly diminish your brain function and cause periods of time when you are not in control of yourself.
