i was on methadone for about 3-4 years, i can tell you that it will not be easy no matter what you do, but i've now been clean off methadone for a little over a month now, and i tryed going cold turkey and it is absolutely hell, so what i did to help was try n get a small amount of other pain killers like vicodin or something of that sort, and for the first week take maybe a half a pill or 2 a day to help keep the edge off a bit, personally i'd say save what u wanna take for night time, cause u wanna sleep so bad but the withdrawls won't let you, so i was using a half a pill to get myself to sleep even if it was for 2-4 hours max a night, but after a week or 2 of doing that you gotta pretty much cut yourself off or you will just be stuck, feeling better but still just not 100%, even after a month im still not 100% n night's r pretty bad trying to sleep but the worst of it is def the first week or 2! if you need any more advice i can tell you what i know, if u want u can add me and we can chat! but the best of luck to you!! the grass is def greener on the other side!!!!

Do you have good insurance? Inpatient detox (we're talking a 21-45 day inpatient detox --- not even rehab) would be your best bet if you've got good insurance or about $50,000-$75,000 that you can afford to spend on it.
Otherwise, I hate to say it but going to bars in search of local drug dealers may be your best bet. Hydrocodone is 1000x easier to get off than methadone or even suboxone.
