4 year old head hurts

My son is four years old and has told me a couple of times over the couple weeks his head hurts. Now I usually give him a little tylenol and it goes away but it has me worried. I mean obviously he can't tell me exactly what he feels like but it does make me worry. I suffer from sever migraines and so does my father. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

How is your son? I'm sorry to hear about your son's headaches.Are there other symptoms present? Was there history of trauma to the head?   If it persists, it is best that you have him see his doctor or be referred to a neurologist for proper evaluation. The pain medication may help provide relief but as long as there is no diagnosis, the symptoms would recur. Take care and do keep us posted.

He has been a healthy kid so far, with the exception of the occasional cold. Once when he was one he fell out a shopping cart.  I didn't get to see how he landed but I picked him up from his side. Other than that, everything normal. I have sufferd from migraines for years now and I didn't know if at his age that would b normal?

Thanks for the update. Indeed, children can also get headaches. Aside from migraine headaches, other differentials include  illness, infection, cold,  fever, sinusitis, pharyngitis, or ear infection. Most children who have migraines have other family members with migraines. They may also inherit the tendency to be affected by certain migraine triggers, such as fatigue, bright lights, and changes in weather. A headache journal may help identify the possible triggers. If it persists,  check with his doctor for proper management. Take care and regards.
