Acutic Headaches, Ice Pick Headaches

Several years ago, I began having acute, stabbing pains on the upper part of my head, above my left ear.  My doctor, then, ordered an MRI, and said it did not show any damage or tumors.  

The head aches come about 2 or 3 times a year.  The a sharp, last about 5 or 10 seconds, then go away, but come again intermittently throughout the day.  This usually lasts about a couple of days, then goes away without any medication.  

This time it has lasted about a week, and is occasionally accompanied by a period of heavy sweating.  It has been going on for about a week now.

I am currently being treated for Glaucoma in the left eye, and have cataract lenses in both eyes.

After going on the internet, I have seen other reports of this similar type of problem, and the words "ice-pick headaches" seems to be the closest diagnosis.  

Should I mention this to my new doctor?  Could it be related to the glaucoma (which is currently under treatment and control)?

How are you? Are there other symptoms present? Glaucoma can also cause headaches, which may be due to fluid in the eye that does not drain properly, or there is over-production of fluid, which causes increased pressure within the eye. The headache caused by glaucoma may be felt in or around the eyes or the forehead, and vary in intensity from mild to severe. Associated symptoms such as nausea and vomiting may also be present. If it persists, have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Aside from ice pick headaches, discuss glaucoma headaches also. Try to avoid taking any kind of over-the-counter pain medication also, because it can exacerbate symptoms. Take care and do keep us posted.
