Auras,Migraines,Nausea....HELP!

Hello, I am 15 and for the past year, I have had Migranes (migraines) that include aruas, where I see halos around lights, and then they strt looking like they are moving, and turn into what you would see if you are looking at a kalideascope. I get really nauseous, dizzy, sensitive to light, and sound, and lose my appatite. I usually go home and sleep for a few hours and the migrane (migraine) dies down and tha auras usually go away. but sometimes I do throw up, but I dont know if that matters.

my mom thinks its because I don't eat in the mornings, but I do eat lunch all the time and I usually do eat dinner.

She also thinks it could be because I don't get enough sleep and my body is telling me I need to do so. but I am not sure thats true, or if it is, i have a feeling/worry that it's something like a tumor or cancer, and I fel terrible for thinking that, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I do not drink or do any drugs, do not take any type of pills/perscriptions(other that advil/tylenol when I have headaches) but thats it. if you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will give you an honest answer, because I just want to get better!

It sounds like migraines. Do you have any other symptoms-like when you are not having the (migraine) are you fine? How often does this happen?
everyone experiences migraines differently. Have you talked to the doctor about this?

I get them randomly, and  have had them from about 1 to 3 ish months apart. I have talked to my doctor and she gave me migraine pills but they are not helping whatsoever.

Sorry to hear that. I hope someone can give you some good advice or send you in the right direction. Usually you have to see a neurologist for this.

Hi,
How are you? What diagnostic tests were done already? Migraine usually responds to rest, ice pack, and both preventive and acute medications. There are plenty of migraine medications available and it may take a few tries to determine the one suited for you.  If your present medications are not working, it is best that you inform your doctor about this for proper management. With your age, it is also possible that the hormone changes you are experiencing are responsible for the headaches. Take care and do keep us posted.
