Basically just toughing it out...

Hi, I am 18, (19 in september) and its been 1 year and 2 months dealing with a very bizzare and torturing headache.
What caused the headache was a combination of 2 different anti-depressants *at my fault* -Fluvoxamine, and Fluoxatine... I have been in and out of hospital several times over the past year, suffering from depression, severe anxiety and stress, and of course the abnormal pain. I've had several tests done (MRI, CT, EEG, and Brain Spect) and the only test that came back abnormal was the brain spect. It showed that I had "reduced perfusion in the frontal lobes, and right temporal lobe." i've tried several medications for the pain, but the strongest painkilled i've recieved was T3's which did nothing. This headache consumes my mind quite litterally. It moves around. It's sticky, gritty, pinching, tugging, "electric" you name it. I can move it around with my mind.. or muscles' i can't tell, I'm just extremely confused. I've tried researching everything but can't come up with a 'diagnosis' ... This monster is one of a kind. A couple months ago I tried committing suicide by OD because I couldn't handle it. I want to get my life back! I'm currently on Gabapentin, Epival, Respiridone, and Clonazepam. I am getting off Epival lately, and i plan to get off Gabapentin, and Respiridone, because they never seemed to help. I don't have a job, and i'm not going to school, And my doctors refrain from trying any stronger painkiller. I am not sure what I need, some form of meditation of the mind? Something's gotta change.

Hi,
How are you? It is good that the MRI, CT scan and EEG results were fine. Aside from discontinuing the medication responsible for the headache, it is also  recommended that you check with your doctor for proper management. Try to stay positive and only take the dose as prescribed by your doctor. If anxiety is present, check with your doctor or have a referral to your psychologist for proper management. Complementary and alternative medicine such as biofeedback therapy may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.

It feels like there is extreme tension in the tip of my spinal cord in my upper neck. Like signals are all directed into one point. Would it be possible a muscle relaxant would help me out?

These yog pranayam techniques will start to ease the pain in a few days.Start today, do it with concentration(will relax the mind), and keep a journal of your progress.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Hi,
How are you? The symptom will respond to muscle relaxant if it is muscular in nature. It is also recommended that you check with your doctor first prior to starting any medication. Hang on and stay positive always. Take care.
