CLUSTER HEADACHES help !!!

Hi ,

I am trying to find out how other people are managing this type of pain. We've tried medication ( preventive one , plus the ones when the cluster period is happening ), we have the oxygen , some massage , but it seems that when the cluster period is on not much is helping ! I would appreciate any advice or if there are any new procedures , or alternative medicine info that might work for this. Is there nothing that can help this type of pain ? Thank you in advance !

How are you? Try to avoid triggers such as alcohol and cigarette smoking, bright light, exertion, heat, foods high in nitrites and certain medications. The goal of treatment is to relieve symptoms using medications like triptans, several weeks of anti-inflammatory medicines, breathing in 100% (pure) oxygen, and injections of the drug known as dihydroergotamine (DHE). A combination of medicines may be needed to control headache symptoms. Have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Painkillers do not usually relieve the pain from cluster headaches. A headache journal may also help. Take care and regards.
