Chronic Headaches with Nausea

I have been having almost daily headaches for probably 3 months now, and many days I also have nausea.  At first I didn't associate my headaches with migraine because they haven't been accompanied by any of the light shows or holes in vision that have typified my migraines.  My headaches usually respond with Excedrin and that's what's I have been taking, taking taking.  I know that over using Excedrin can cause rebound headaches so I try to keep it to a minimum, but I'm still taking them almost daily and certainly the Excedrin PM at night so I can sleep and hopefully not being woken up with yet another headache.

I took Exedrin PM last night because of a slight headache, but this morning I awoke with yet another damn headache and notice both eyes next to my nose has dark blue patches - like a black eye but restricted to the sides of my nose.

Could the headaches and nausea be indicative of another problem of a more serious nature?  Could the partial black eyes be related?

I'd really appreciate aay help or suggestion to get rid of these headaches!

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
There is a chance that you have lacrimal gland infection (gland which produces tears) or you had a minor bleed causing discoloration. You must get your blood pressure checked. The other possibility is that you have ‘benign intracranial hypertension’ (BIH). This happens due to impaired CSF absorption. A generalized throbbing headache worst felt in the morning and last thing at night. This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. Hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend you get investigated for. These can precipitate BIH. A spinal tap is a must both to diagnose the condition and to treat it.
There is also a chance that you have compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc.
There is also a chance that what you have is a migraine indeed. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
