Constant left side Headaches

I am a male of 48 years of age. I was recently diagnosed with Horner's syndrome after a severe case of vehement coughs that I had been having for 2 weeks. After the coughs subsided, the headaches began with my left eye drooping, which led my neurologist to diagnose Horner's syndrome. He said that some side effects may remain.

After one week of this diagnosis I still suffer of strong side headaches, not only around my left eye, but around my whole left side of my head. The pain seems to wander around. When I lie down in the evenings in bed the throbbing begins. My blood pressure is normal, I have no nausea and am normally in very good health. I have a desk job, and I recently went back to work only to feel those side headaches from time to time during the day. I usually go to the gym three times a week (haven't done that in recent weeks though.)

Will it go away? Is there anything I can do stop or at least reduce it? Should I ask my neurologist to run further tests?

Hi,
You can try some neck exercises, breathing exercises and yoga. A change of posture is advisable every 2 or 3 hours or some break in between when on your desk job. Try some OTC painkillers also. Rule out sinusitis - take an ENT consultation. Till then saline nasal drops and steam inhalation should be done. Goodluck.

Hi,
The headache could be a sinus headache. Please try steam inhalation and OTC antihistaminics and see if they work before consulting your neurologist again.
