Hi.
How would you describe the pain you are experiencing? Is it throbbing, sharp, dull, or constrictirng? Is it relieved by sleep? Do you experience any neck pain? How about ear pain? Are there any other symptoms such as visual disturbances?
What you are experiencing are non-specific and can be caused by many conditions including migraines, tension-type headache, headache, sinus headache, referred pain from a dental problem, or cervical spondylosis. It would be advisable for you to consult a physician to properly evaluate your condition and determine what is wrong with you.
In the meantime, you could take over-the-counter pain medications to help relieve some of the pain. Relaxation techniques can also be done especially if stress or anxiety is considered as contributing to the symptoms.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Hi, Im a 13 year old Girl who has a terrible Headache! PLEASE READ AND HELP ME. Please :'(
I am experiencing a constant throbbing sort of pain on the left and right sides of my head. Not on my forehead...but like right behind my hair line..and on the side/top of my head. Its been going on for about three weeks now. It hurts the worst when i'm sitting down and i have to get up and walk/do something. Same when i'm laying down and then i have to sit up or get up. It also hurts when there are loud noises and I sometimes see double. But like I said its a constant throbbing pain that wont stop! Ive taken plenty of pain killers..and the nurse at the school says its just sinuses. But I think different. Ive has many sinus infections before, but NONE like this. Im not even stopped up! Anyways, I haven't been to the doctor because my parents wont take me...and well I just want to know what wrong with me. My head hurts. I cant even concentrate when im trying to type because it hurts so bad. Please Help Me.
Thank you so much(:
Hi,
For approximately the past 6 months more or less, I too have been experiencing sharp pain in my head. It is always on the left side right over my forehead and ear, by the left frontal and temporal lobes. There are times when the pain is unbearable, but yet there is not really any sensitivity to light, therefore I do not think it could be migraines. Sleep helps some of the time, but not others. I've been thinking that it might be a brain tumor or something else that's hazardous to my health and I am very worried. I'm 20 years old, and I've never suffered from any disease or headaches till now. I'd greatly appreaciate if someone responds with what these head pains can be due to.
Thanks!
Hi,
There are quite a few possibilities here. This may be a tension headache since it is constant and dull. I would suggest you take OTC painkillers for a couple of days and see if they make a difference.
This could also be a sinus headache. You can try taking steam inhalation for a day or two and see if it helps.
I think you can also get your blood pressure measured and an ear and eye exam done.
i am also experiencing constant pains on the left side of my head. usually these pains are sharp which are on and off all day. this has been happening for near on two years now. this is not relieved by sleep altough it does not affect my sleep. i have no other symptoms and am worried because i am only 18 years old and have never heard of this.
any replys would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, stacey.
