Correlation between heart disease and migraine

by Tracy0713, Jan 24, 2008 09:09PM
About 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with a condition that caused my heart to beat twice as fast than what is normal.  At the time, the doctor said I had two conductors.  Then, 8 years ago, I had stroke like symptoms.  After many tests, it was determined that I have intermittent Left Bundle Branch Block, Patent Foreamen Ovale, cardiomyopathy and Basilar Artery Migraine with Aura without Pain.

Is it possible that all the heart stuff is related to the migraine?  Heart disease and a history of migraines runs in the family.... Oh boy.

Anybody out there with the same problems?  Just wondering.

Hello.

Yes, migraine is related to heart problems. Migraine is itself a problem caused by blood vessels. An association is there between the patent foramen ovale and migraine.

Treating the PTO is shown to decrease the severity of migraines.

I am 23 and have been diagnosed with Basilar Artery Migraines as well as Tachycardia (a condition that causes my heart to beat to fast). I also have chronic lung problems and Fibromyalsia (fibromyalgia). With your migraines do you sometimes black out or fall? And have you noticed any problem with your memory or problems getting your thoughts from your head to your  mouth or to paper?

You must have a better doctor than I do.  I haven't been diagnosed with anything but I have rapid heart rate, problems finding words, migraines everyday, horrible lung pain, and nervousness when I wake in the morning.  How did you get any doctor to put it all together, or did you?
