Daily excruciating pain on the left side of the head??

I have been getting really bad headaches in the left side of my head for the last 4 months. At first I thought it was from me getting put on the depo, so I decided to go off of the depo 2 months ago, so then I thought that maybe it was from getting off of the depo and all of the changes I was putting my body through. But now I have been getting 2-3 excruciating headaches everyday!! Its all on the left side, my left eye goes blurry, I see shapes and it twitches a lot. I get chills, and very very light headed every time I move to fast or bend over to pick up one of my daughers. The pain gets so bad, I feel like I am losing control, I get really aggravated, testy, and mean. Nothing gets rid of them, I have tried Tylenol, Bayer Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Benadril for Sinus and Allergy head congestion, and since nothing works, or even takes a little bit of the pain away I stopped taking anything. I went to the ER because I don't have insurance and I don't have a family doctor, and they gave me a shot of some kind of pain killer and that didn't help either just made me really dizzy, but didn't take away the pain, they proscribed me Ultram with I never heard of but it isn't helping either, and referred me to a specialist. I don't have money or insurance to see a  specialist but I'm starting to get scared, and very annoyed, I know being in pain all the time is keeping me from being able to play with my 2 daughters and every day things like clean. I don't know what to do or if its anything I should really worry about!! Help PLEASE!

Hi, migraines are the worst types of headaches, for I get them too.  I get them on the left side of my head, the blurry vision you are getting is called "aura" these are symptons that a migraine is coming on, I usually get symptons on my right side, blurry vision, tingling on my fingers, arms, legs, foot, toes and then they go away and I get the headache on the left side of my head.  Unfortunately you need to see a neurologist and there is medicine to help the pain, you need to see the doctor to see which one is going to be the best for you.  They are all prescriptions though.  Try not to worry about the aura you get, it only makes you more nervous, some people get aura some dont.  Please let me know if these information helps or if you have more questions I can answer.

Hi,
In migraine headaches normal pain killers work a little.Use of extracranial vasoconstrictors is sometimes necessary. Cafergot, a combination of ergotamine tartrate and caffeine, is often particularly helpful. A drug called ergotamine has been used effectively for acute migraine. Sometimes, an analgesic painkiller is used in combination with it. Ergotamine can bring on headaches and other side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, cramps and tingling sensations. It should be used only a few times a week.Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
