Frontal sinus headache?

by veronicah, Nov 05, 2007 11:56PM
I have been getting these symptoms often.  I dont know what to do anymore.  I have tried different things and have gone to my doctor on more than one ocacsion.  I have been prescribed many different things and frankly not much has worked.  I get a terrible headache with pain focused along my eyebrow.  The pain is unbareable at times I dont really know how to describe the pain but basically it maked me lie down and just add pressure to get a little bit of relief.   I need some help as what this can be?  I usually do not have a runny nose or feel congested when this happens.  The last time I noticed I had some nasal drip but I felt fine until the "eyebrow pain"  please help!!

If you have upper sinus infection impacted and its not draining you should see a ENT for him to xray these when you have the problem.
I had a severe headache one time across the front of face, above my eyebrows also and my cousin being an ENT I ran by his office when I was in town where he practices.  He xrayed my sinus cavities and ended up saying "hospital"....I told him "but I have a headache"!!!  It was explained to me that mine were not draining like some will or most will do but it was just sitting there impacting more and more infetion in that area and had to get cleared up.  It is more dangererous for this to happen, not meaning to scare you just letting you know it could get serious.  Anyway, I didn't go to hospital but had 2 shots of anitibiotics a day for 7 days and was xrayed again in 3 days to see if getting better.
It seemed that all the antihistimines I had used were just blocking me from draining rather than helping me and he told me only cerain kinds could I use for those.  So much for self medicating huh?
I never realized this before.
So, go to you a ENT and describe what you are having and see if thats your problem.  Good Health to you.

Hi.

It is possible for a sinus headache to be causing your symptoms of headache and pain focused on the eyebrow, even though there is no runny nose or nasal congestion. However, other causes related to the symptoms cannot be ruled out, including migraines and hypertension.

A consult with a physician to consider doing some imaging procedures to visualize any sinus disorder is advisable.

Hope this helps.
