MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

How old are you?

The more common headaches are caused by migraines and this may be likely in your case. Migraine headaches are unilateral, throbbing and may be associated with visual symptoms ( blurring of vision ).

However, it is important to have your condition assessed by a neurologist to have a definite diagnosis. There is no substitute for a complete medical history and physical examination.

Avoid any known triggers if any.Don't skip meals, get adequate sleep and maintain a balanced diet.

Do keep us posted regarding your physician's advice.

I know your 17 so I want to make sure you are not at home worrying you have a brain tumor.  Odds are really against it.  Seventeen is a rough age and I am betting plain old tension or migraine.

But since it has lasted so long, you need to get a neuro eval so they can treat the pain and help you from getting these in the future.  They may want an initial c-scan or MRI but don't worry - that is common.

Also, if BP runs in your family, most grocery stores have those blood pressure machines so you can check yours.  At 17 are you a junior or a senior and do you have after high school plans made - nowadays that's enough to give anyone a killer migraine.

Hi,

Do you have any vision related problems? Any symptoms that suggest sinusitis to be a cause of these headaches?

Are you sleeping well? Is there any precipitating factors like loud noise, strong light, stress etc for these headaches?

From what you describe these seem to be migraine attacks , but a clinical evaluation would be required before a confirmed diagnosis can be made and treatment prescribed.

It would be best to consult your doctor if the symptoms persist even after taking pain relief medications.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
