Head pain, dizzy, nauseous, fainting, confused...

Hello all! I have been having some trouble with a pain in my head. The pain is a constant pain about 2" above my left ear. It is not throbbing, and doesn't hurt a lot. When it first began, I had the head pain for awhile, then it would get sharper, after a few minutes of the sharp pain, I would get dizzy, nauseous, and almost pass out. Plus, I would feel my heart beat weird. Kind of fast and thumpy, sorry for the non-technical terms!) and I would feel like a rolling feeling in my chest. Afterwards, I feel crappy and really tired. Sometimes the thing with my chest last a little longer. These symptoms have been for about 2 weeks. I did have a head CT last Friday that was normal, and the Dr prescribed me meds for migraines. I took one that same day and noticed the head pain did decrease a bit. Though, I still feel nauseous, dizzy and confused. For the past few days, I feel dumb. I don't know how else to explain that. I sit here and am confused over simple things and see things wrong, I have also noticed I have had trouble typing. Normally, I have no problems with it. I will have to sit here and edit this for many typos before posting. It is like I type the wrong letter even though I am telling myself what to type. In order to do the "right thing" (not just typing) I have to really concentrate. I also at times, when I feel bad, feel like I'm not part of what is going on around me. I have no idea what is wrong with me, I just know I feel horrible all the time.

I didn't mean that I thought ur issues were caused by stress.....but wanted to know if u were stressed because stress can make head aches worse.

Hello! Laying down does feel better, but only after I have slept all night. Changing my position doesn't really seem to help anything though :(

Did your head hurt all over? Or just one spot? Mine is just one spot on my left side. the whole rest of my head, there is no pain at all.

:) I understand.

Well, this is his 5th deployment, so it's really not that stressful anymore, lol. Everybody keeps saying stress, but I am actually less "stressed" than normal. I'm actually kind of bored...

Thank you!

I was going through the same thing. I had severe head ache nothing helped. You having two kids you don't have time to lay down.

But try this. Take all your pillows off your bed.  Lay flat on your bed. If you get pretty instant results that your head ache goes away when laying flat. Then you  stand up or sit up and your head ache comes back. You need to go see a neurologist and get checked for spinal leak.

I went three months with out being diagnoised. Once diagnoised, blood patch and I was cured instantly from the headache. Now Im just real sore.

Hope you find relief soon!

Well the reason I asked is there is a condition that is found in overweight people and just wanted to rule it out!

U said ur husband is in Afghanistan.....is that causing stress??

I hope ur dr will work wiwth u and get u a full work up on the testing.

Hello! No I am not over weight at all. I am 5'2" and 116 lbs. I did have my thyroid checked a month or so back when i had issues with my menstrual cycle. They said that was fine. I am planning on scheduling another appointment, as I just feel "off". I wll ask what all I can have done, and suggest the things you have mentioned, because I can't feel like this all the time. It was ok the last 2 weeks because my husband was home, but he is back in Afghanistan and I get no nap time anymore! That is all I did when he was home...slept! Well, and felt horrible and a little scared. Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

Hi...I understand the brain fog as I call it...it took me several read thrus to get the gist of what u were saying...I too have to edit typos, not that I promise I got em all!!

U said u had a CT scan of ur head....maybe u should ask for a MRI w/wo contrast!!
I hate to ask, but r u overweight at all?.....and when was the last time u had lab work done?....check for B12, vit D levels as well as minerals like magnessium, potassium and calcium.I would also ask they look at the thyroid levels.

I hope ur dr is able to find a dx for u soon.
