Headaches

8 days ago I was swimming in a heated pool and immediately upon exit from the pool,  I had the most debilitating headache.  It felt like my head was exploding.  I went to the hospital and was told to get a CT scan the next day.  The CT showed no abnormalites.  I rested and the next day, I took a shower.  When the water hit my body, the pain was unbearable.  Dr. gave me pain medication.  Waited 2 days, showered again and the pain was once again unbearable. I live in Mexico.  I live with a retired radiologist.  No one can figure this out.  Has anyone had any experience with water effecting a headache.  Also, some doctors don't think I need an MRI but one doctor in the US thinks I should have one.  Problem....can I fly?  Any help is appreciated.

I went swimming the other day and it brought me to this website. I swam underwater starting at the deep end to see how long I could hold my breath, and how far I could go. I ended up going for about 65 feet. I almost passed out, and came up for air, and immediately after had a pounding headache, and its not going away, I don't know what it is. maybe an oxygen deficiency. I think that I was fine when I was in the deep water because there is a notable change in temperature. I have heard you can hold your breath longer in colder water because of the way it slows down your bodies need for oxygen, I theorize that a combination of lack of oxygen, and hitting that hot water made my brain go crazy for oxygen, and I am suffering for it with a headache. Don't know whats up.

Hi,

Swimming in heated pool has been known to cause headaches. But these headaches usually are benign headaches not associated with any structural lesion in the brain.I would suggest you to avoid hot water baths, heated pools for some time and maintain hydration by drinking plenty of water
