Greetings and nice to meet you.  As I try to understand the dilemma, I must tell you I am a nurse, and nurses can assist but can not diagnose medical problems.

With that said I will try to help.  I understand you have recurring headaches/migrains that last all day.  You visited the MD and MD suggested possible migrain or clogged artery.

First: clogged artery is very serious and can be life threatening.  MD will need to start simple and proceed to complex if needed.  MD/Nurse will need to take your BLOOD PRESSURE, take blood to test your CHOLESTEROL levels and/or other abnormalities. A DOPPLER can detect differences between blood pressure in your peripherals (arms/legs/ankles) and may help narrow down where the clot is, if there is a blood clot. An ANGIOGRAM is used where a special dye is injected into the artery to visualize if there is a blocked or narowed artery.  There are other routes to diagnose a clogged/blocked artery but these are some most common.

MD should never give medication if they are only GUESSING what the problem is.  Make sure you get an accurate diagnosis.  Also, ask the doctors office for a "translator"  and that translator will make sure the MD understands you fully; and you understand the MD fully.  Many offices have translators and they are free for the patient.

If I understand the medication, you are a male and Betarol is used to help your prostate function.  Polytanol is an antidepressant and may help the mental mood.  It may help rid the brain of depression, relieve anxiety and tension.

Now as far as your headaches/migrains are concerned, we need to find out if you have a clogged artery with tests (some mentioned above).  You and translator need to return to the MD to get more tests completed.

Home therapy may be to take a half hour a day to sit with yourself, close your eyes and practice thinking about "nothing", completely clearing your mind.  Stretching really helps too.  Walking is probably the best for the circulation and clearing the mind.

You may also try soaking the feet in warm water to draw the blood from the brain.  Some find relief putting a warm pack on the back of the neck.  I suggest NOT taking over the counter medications like Tylenol/acetaminophen while taking Naproxen/Naprosyn.

Is the MD sure it is not a sinus headache?  Sometimes the sinus headaches can act like a migrain.

Lastly, if possible please write down when you get the migrain (when it starts, time of day/night), What were you doing when it started? When does it get worse (bending over, with light, deep breathing, changing body positions)? How long does it last?  Does anything help with relief, even if it is a little?  How often do you suffer from migrain?  Do you get a migrain when you eat a certain type of food?  This information will show a history of migrain and may be easier to find solution.

I hope I have given you some information to work with when you return back to the MD.  I strongly suggest they get you a translator so you understand what the MD is saying/asking of you and you of the MD.

Please keep me updated.
The issue here is to get a proper diagnosis so we know what to do next.

Thanks a lot for the information you give. And these are all about me and my symptoms. I am 22 years old girl.I have  a headache for more than 10 years. This can be controlled by paracetamol at first but now cannot. I've been diagnosed as PCOS and the doctor prescribe Yasmin for me but now i stopped taking it for 6 months.I have seen the doctorfor my headache. He ordered me to undergo  brain CT scan and the result is seem  to have a little stenonsis but he's not sure.So the medication he prescribes for me are Propranolol 10 mg 1 tab  after breakfast in the morning and evening, Naproxen 250 mg 1 tab when headache and amitriptyline 10 mg 1 tab before go to bed.At first after take these medicines the symptom is improves but now it is not,I still have a headache all day and all the whole  head.Especially when i read books, headache progress more and more.Besides headache, I also  suffocate too.The more headache i have, the more suffocate i get. This suffocation can be relieved by ammonia.
