I'm so glad to hear the headache is subsiding.  With your mom and sister having Migraines, that is like a dead giveaway - and age 35 - you are getting to the age of perimenopause and that can be HORMONE HEADACHE CITY.  Sorry, mom might be right.  I hate it when that happens. LOL

But my thought is that being a nurse is almost more difficult in your situation.  You see the worse case scenarios so much more often than we do - so of course you are more likely to think the worse.  Good luck and take care.  And remember when taking care of those patients especially the heavy ones, bend your knees.  I have found back pain makes you sleep not as good thus making you more likely for a migraine flare up.  Just my two cents but I have so much respect for nurses - thank you for the work you do.

Well the pain has decreased and the relief came with a decongestant of all things and 1 Ty#3. The area is still there but it doesn't hurt as much. Before I could barely sit up. I did notice some tingling in my hand prior to the onset and mood swings, I have been under alot of stress lately between school and money. Of course this never came to my mind until it was pointed out to me by my sister who has migraines all the time and my mother who also is prone to migraines. I had tried excedrin migraine but it never touched my headache at all. I am trying to stay very relaxed today because I do not want it back and it feels like it is almost over, Thank you all for the advice and sorry for freaking out. I am a nurse and should know better but I guess when it comes to your own body alittle knowledge of worse case is always for most in my mind..I am scheduling an appointment though with my doctor just to be sure. My blood pressure was fine, it was only 88/50, sort of low but I am usually 96/50 anyway. Again thank you all so much....since my headaches are starting back up my mother thinks it may be a combination of hormones and stress, I am 35.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

For most people with headaches, the possiblity that a brain tumor is causing the headaches may lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety.Stress and anxiety may eventually aggravate the symptoms.

A tumor in the brain may present with other signs and symptoms other than a headache .
This depends on  the tumor's size and location. In your case, you haven't mentioned any accompanying symptoms like nausea or vomiting, blurring or doubling of vision, numbness or stiffness of the extremities, changes in your sense of smell or hearing, seizures and weight loss.In trying to figure out the cause of a headache , more common causes have to be ruled out first. Headaches may be caused by soft tissue injuries surrounding the face.Dental infections, ear infections or scalp injuries may actually cause headaches.Since you are experiencing localized pain on the right side of your head ( is this correct?) I would suggest you check for any redness or tenderness over the area.Have you tried taking any medications for the pain? Seek consult with your dentist or ear specialist to rule out local infections.

Stay calm and try to note what activities or medications help in relieving your symptoms.

I hope this helps.

I hate to ask but how old are you.  You have had Migraines in the past so brain tumor would not be my first concern but give more details.  How/when did pain start, worse in morning or night.  Don't freak out yet - brain tumor is a word like cancer.  But it really isn't like that anymore - I seriously doubt if you have a brain tumor but sometimes when you have anxiety (welcome to the club) its best to give yourself the worse case scenario.  OK, lets say it is a brain tumor - medical advances have come so far that some teaching hospitals are actually using a non-invasive laser to break up the tumor.  Don't think of "The Young and the Restless" where "YES, NICKI HAS A BRAIN TUMOR - DUNT, DUNT, DAH!!. But seriously, it is way to early and a real rarity.  But give some symptoms, what meds you try, when the pain starts etc.. Migraine symptoms change all the time, it is completely normal.  I am 43, started having Migraines at age 8ish - just this past month had my first Aura - those zigzag lines - doctor wasn't worried about it at all.  But knowledge is power so give those details and let's see if we can get you enjoying this new year.   You probably do need to go to the doctor though - you have to have your BP checked, etc...  Just to be safe, and even that is usually fixed with a little pill.  Take Care
