Hemiplegic Migraine + Memory Loss

After 3 years I have been diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines. I have had pretty much consistent symptoms, dizziness at onset followed by extreme head pain, loss of speech, facial dropping, blurred vision, rigth side weakness.. I have had permanent vision loss and my smile now permament droops. My physician started my on Verapamil in January which has been wonderful and I have only had 2 small episodes since starting, however now I am experiencing short term memory loss, I was wondering if this is common with hemiplegic migraines or more of an issue with the medication?

Hope you are feeling better.
Verapamil is not known to cause memory loss. However hemiplegic migraine especially the familial variety has been associated with memory loss.
