As a child i was diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines. After years of freedom from them, i have had 2 in the last 2 months.i didnt have the weakness on either of the recent occassions, nor a headache, but, the worrying thing for me is the difficulty with my speech, and memory.i struggle to remember the names of things..............i know what i am saying is wrong, but cant remember the right ways and names of things. As i am now 44, i am just worried that this may put me at risk of a stroke!
Hi,
Hemiplegic migraines may be controlled but just like other forms of migraines the attacks may be unpredictable. It is important that you have an identification that you carry with you containing information regarding your condition. Your friends and colleagues should also be aware of your condition. This type of migraine condition is yet poorly understood.Unlike the familial type wherein a genetic association has been found, the cause for sporadic types of migraines is not clearly defined.
