Hi

I went for an eye appointment at the beginning of October the light the optician used to check my retina was very bright.I was told my eye sight was fine and the pressure in my eyes normal. The next day I experienced what was like pins and needles on the left hand side of my head,it went away after a short while.A week later I was on a flight to Greece and when I landed and arrived at the hotel I experienced this weird sensation on either side of my head,Now it's got to the stage where I have varied pressure on both sides and the front of my head and a really stuffy nose always when I lay down at night accompanied by visual disturbances.I feel totally detached from myself and it's getting me down.I have been to the Dr and she said she thought I was stressed and it could be Migraines then I went to hospital where they prescribed antibiotics and said they could send me for a CT scan. Please can you give me some feedback.Thank You

Hi everyone ,thanks for the feedback! I have now finished my course of antibiotics and if anything I feel worse. The strange thing is most people that have sinusitis seem to have a lot of pain and I don't at all.I just feel so detached from myself. It's not that I'm getting headaches but just pressure that comes and goes.I have to wait a couple of weeks for a CT scan,Thanks for your replies though!

Hi,
Take the antibiotics and some painkillers for a few days and see if that helps. If it is due to sinusitis the headaches should respond. Also try steam inhalation and saline nasal drops. Then you should go and get an ENT consultation nad rulae out chronic sinusitis. If the symptoms still persist consult a neurologist and try to find out the cause of your headaches. You may also be advised a CT scan then. Try to sleep well and avoid alcohol and smoking. Goodluck.

You know how Migraines cause visual disturbances?  Visual distubances can also cause migraine.  Stuffy/runny noses can also accompany this.  The BIG question is do you normally suffer from migraines?  Have you ever had PMS or Menstraul migraine?  Even regular tension headaches.  If the answer is no - then I say take the antibiotics and some good old fashion sudafed and advil.  You'll know pretty fast if its sinus pressure.  If this doesn't help, then a full eval by a board certed Neurologist is in order.  Take Care and write back - remember the more you look the better chance of finding the answer and it sounds like it is taking a toll on you.  Take Care

Hi,

It could simply be sinusitis which can cause pressure headache and stuffy nose. I suggest you try steam inhalation and OTC antihistaminics and see if it helps before visiting the neurologist. Good luck!

if this doctor thinks it could be migraines, why would she be having you do a ct scan? and why did she put you on antibiotics? i do not have migraines, but i do have chronic clusters and they feel like pins and needles on only one side followed by nose stuffyness, as far as the ct scan i have never heard of migraines or clusters being visible on these or mri's.  is this a nueroloigist you are seeing?  if not, i would sugest you see one, my opinion.
