Hi,
Yes cervical spine issues especially those of the lower cervical spine do exacerbate migraine headaches.

Make sure you continue with the cervical collar and f possible do gentle neck exercises also. Take care!
Hi Dr. Thanks for answering my question. I had an MRI of the brain, sinuses and now all they need is the neck. Yetserday I went to the ER and they gave me an xray which shower I have more than normal movement of the vertibrai when looking up so I am going to a spince specialist next week to get an MRI done to look further into the nerves and/or other issues. They did give me a collar for my neck and some percocets in the meantime which the collar is actually giving me some relief. I def. know these headahces are due to my neck. I get the migraine in one spot of my head and that is over my eyebrow
Hi,
Hope you are feeling better.
Yes it is important to get an MRI or CT scan of the head and neck done to know the extent of disc herniation. In the meantime I would suggest you to wear a cervical collar, take rest, and apply ice packs to the affected part of neck. Do not bend your neck and if possible do some gentle neck exercises. It is quite possible that your headaches are related to pain in the neck.
Topamax does take some time to show its effect. It is supposed to be a very good drug for migraine prophylaxis.
Take care!
