Is there any hope?

I have severe migraines, at least that's what they tell me. These occur on average 3 to 5 times a week and usually last days going through various degrees.  Its pain on one side of my head typically but not always. Let me say that I always have a headache.  There hasn't been a day in the last 10 years or more I haven't, often I can function with the pain until recently they started getting much worse.  I've had this issue since I can remember.  No I get states where I can't speak, or very slurred speech.  I get confused frequently and often forget where I am for a time.  Last time I went to the ER I couldn't even remember my wife.    I'm only 33 years old.

So I've been to doctors on doctors.  I've had mri's, eeg's, CT Scans, test, tests and more tests.  I've been to specialists and regular doctors alike all have ended up telling me, "we can't do anything, for you this is life."

Don't know why I'm posting here but I'm at point where I don't know what to do.  The impairments are so bad now I am having problems functioning at my job and frequently have to call in as it would not be safe for me to drive.  I've got a family history of various neurological problems, most of which they can't figure out what the issues are.  I've been told a number of times my problem is not that.  The pain is umbearable at this point.  I've been on everything from topomax to imtrix and various other medications thrown in.  nothing helps, and there hasn't been anything that has come close to soothing the pain, let alone impairments which last for hours at a time.

If anyone has any ideas, or suggestions I'd be grateful, however I've tried quite a few.

There is a lot of hope.Do this regularly and start to notice the benefit from day 3.Allow  upto 4 to 6 months for the migraine to go away completely. Continue the breathing once a day after you are better.Drink warm water.Come back to report progress, so others may benefit.Do not give this up before one month. You can drive away the migraine.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 15 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Anulom Vilom -  Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep breaths into the lungs.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 15 times

Hi,

Have you been able to identify a trigger for your headaches? It can be a food item like caffeine, monosodium glutamate, processed meats, aged cheeses, red wine, chick peas and chocolates it can even be bright light, change in weather, excessive stress and anxiety.
Most of the pain medications if taken for a long period of time cause headaches which are known as rebound headaches.
I would suggest you start magnesium supplements, they have been found to be very effective in migraine and also try biofeedback therapy. Do let me know if you need more information.

Have you tried Indocin (indomethacin)?  It's an anti - inflamatory that helps some headaches...

It does help my pain somewhat - and has been the difference between a halfway regular life and spending all my time in doctor offices, urgent care centers and ER rooms...

Since you've been through the medication mill too, you may have already tried this....
