Hi,
How is your sister? Thanks for the update and hope she is feeling better. Was she able to see her ophthalmologist? If there is a history of hysterectomy and the headaches occurred a few weeks after the operation, the possibility of hormonal issue causing the headache symptoms is possible. This could also be discussed with her gynecologist to rule this out. Take care and hope to hear from you soon. Best regards.
Well, after my last post and thinking all was better....I just heard from my sis and things are NOT better after all. She will be seeing an Opthalmologist soon, but is meanwhile getting nervous about the situation. I passed on your message to her. Thank you so much for the information.
Thank you for responding. As of Thursday, she was doing better. Her doctor said it was from extreme tension in her upper shoulders and neck (She was into her 3rd week of recuperating after her Hysterectomy when it began.) The doctor did some pressure points and gave her some medicine (she didn't say what) and then told her to come back on Friday for another treatment. Thursday morning, my sister wrote me and said that the double vision was already starting to clear up as was the headache and she was feeling well enough to go to work. She works for an Optometrist so at least she was able to have their free advice during this time.
I appreciate you commenting...if further treatments don't completely clear this up, we may need to look elsewhere.
Hi,
How is your sister? What other tests were done? It is good to know that the MRI was normal. This could indeed be due to primary headaches such as migraine or cluster headaches since migraine usually have visual symptoms . Ocular or opthalmic migraines usually presents with small, enlarging blind spot (scotoma) in the central vision with bright, flickering lights (scintillations) or a shimmering zig-zag line (metamorphopsia) inside the blind spot. The blind spot usually enlarges and may also move across the field of vision. She may benefit from further evaluation by an opthalmologist or neuro-opthalmologist and to rule out other eye issues. Take care and do keep us posted.
