Migraine Headaches And Taking Coumadin

I am 24 years old and last month I was was put in the hospital for a pulmonary embolism. I had had 2 blood clots in my right lung. I am not on Coumadin 5mg a day, and i have to go every week for my PR-INR. I also have horrable migraine headaches all the time. I am currently taking Maxalt-MLT for the migraines, the only way that i can take the medication is if i take it and go to sleep. Most of the time i will wake up for with a headaches that is worse then the one that i had when i went to bed. I just don't know why my headaches are worse now then what they were before.

It is very difficult to tell what has caused the change in intensity of your headaches. I would suggest you to consult your physician about it because Coumadin can also cause headaches which are usually sudden and can indicate internal hemorrhage.
If these are migraines you need dose adjustment of your migraine medication. I would also suggest you to do some relaxation exercises like breathing exercises and meditation and try natural supplements like magnesium and Migravent.
