Migraine every single day for 2 years

I have been on countless meds.. Nothing works.. I've been to a chiropractor.. I've been to the eye doctor.. I've even seen a Neurologist.. Even though I was in and out of his office in less than 10 minutes.. I want to see a different one.. That was over a year ago.. The eye doctor also wants me to see a different one.. The last scan I had was also over a year ago.. Last november (2008) I had such bad migraines, I was having stroke symptoms.. The vision in my left eye hasn't been the same since.. Klee ordered a catscan, cause he couldn't tell I wasn't in fact having a stroke.. But it was the migraines that caused the symptoms.. I have been slowly getting those symptoms back.. and it's scary.. The migraines have been more and more messing with my speech.. Half the time when I talk, I feel like an idiot.. Cause the words don't come out right.. I've been in the er before with my migraines, and they did the protocol thing where they run like 4 meds through iv.. It brings it down, but it just comes back more a couple hours later.. I mean not as bad.. But it still comes back.. I have not gone without pain in my head for almost 4 years.. Almost 4 years ago, I got a headache that literally never went away.. Not even for a minute.. Then just over 2 years ago, I got my first migraine ever.. And I have had one every single day since.. I'm not kidding.. Not a day goes by that I don't have a migraine to a certain degree.. A nurse or someone questioned me on that one time.. When I said I had a mild migraine.. She said.. "what, how is that? a migraine is a migraine" I told her well, you live with having a migraine every day for as long as I have, and then you can start rating them.. lol.. She kinda ticked me off at first.. But then she understood.. Some people don't believe that they are migraines, because I can be in light and around my screaming kids.. But I've lived with them for so long.. I learned to just deal with it, cause I had to, otherwise I wouldn't be able to live at all.. And they are definately 100% migraines.. They are starting to scare me.. because more and more lately.. like I said, my speech is being affected.. My hands, mostly my left one, all the sudden goes tingly (that's what was happening when I had the stroke symptoms) I get this rush throughout me, and all the sudden I get extremely lightheaded and almost pass out.. and it's happening more and more.. I ended up in ER last night, to get the protocol done.. I had a killer migraine for 2 1/2 days straight without it letting up for even a minute, it actually got worse at night.. When they did the protocol, it brought the migraine way down, but then less than a hour after I left the hospital, it was back, not as bad, but back.. Of course..

I realy hope you get better, i 17 years old and it's been about a year since i started with my headaches. It all started one day in classroom when my teacher said we could either listen to music, talk quietly or put our head down. So i did and i feel asleep, when i woke up cause the bell had rang to go to my other class, my friend Dawn said i twiched, i got up from ym chair and i felt dizzy, since that day i got home and all i wanted it to do is go to sleep, the light bothered me alot, so i just went to a dark room and i slept. The following month i only felt sleepy and tired, till one day i started to get a bad head-ache the only thing i knew is that the sun was the one main thing tha bothered me. So since that point one my head-aches started, my mom had toook me to a clinic and that lady said i i had migraine's so she gave some of this little nazil spray that would some how go up to my head and prevent the pain.......So i used the nazil spray's yet my head-aches kept coming, i went to another doctor and she also told me that i migrain's and she gave prescription drug's (medications) but then once again........my head-aches kept happening, so my mom had decide to take me to another doctor........and this doctor said i had muscle tension that causes my head-aches, so he also gave me some pills, yet it's been about 3 months since i last visited a doctor and i still get this head-aches, but at night is when i can't  go to sleep and even my head-aches make me cry......

Please if you might know or have an idea of what time of head-aches i have
and how to control them please help me

and thank you......

Well, I saw my Dr on Friday. And he is tesing me for Lyme's.. And setting me up with a Headache Specialist.. Don't know yet when I go though.. I asked him if the amount of Mt Dew I drink could be causing my constant migraine.. Cause I drink about 6 a day.. He said he really doesn't think that's what is doing it.. But to give it a shot.. He is having me cut back, one a day for a week, then the next week cut down one more.. Until I'm down to 1-2 a day..

I had one done over a year and a half ago, a CT scan done just over a year ago.. And now just on Friday, my doctor ordered an MRI with contrast.. I should know the results today.. I had it done late afternoon, so nothing was read right away.

Thank you! It's so difficult to go through this. I just got another MRI done on Friday, but this time, for the first time, they did it with contrast. I have not gotten the results yet. And its driving me crazy, I should have them today. My sister-in-law thinks I might have a small cyst or something, not exactly sure. So you went through surgery and still go through the migraines, how awful. I'm so sorry. I have never heard of that massage.. i'll have to look into seeing if it's done around here.. probably not though, this is a small town.. but thank you so much for the info. I hope things get better for you also..

my heart goes out to you, especially with kids!  I went through the same thing, still get them daily, but in 2000 I got one that was so horrible I couldn't move for days, I didn't want to even go to the hosptal or Dr's because I didn't want to vomit or see or hear anything anymore.  When I finally went he ordered a catscan because he thought it was my neck, saw something at the base of my brain, got an mri and I had a tumor, an acoustic neuroma, it sits on your nerves that affect your hearing, speach, sight and facial movement.  I had surgery to remove it, lost my hearing in that ear and now I have awful pain on that side of my head plus the daily migraines!!  I know exactly what you mean by mild, med, bad and awful but a lot of people even in the medical field don't understand.  One other thing you might want to try is sacral cranial massage, that helped me when I lived where I could get it.  Right now I live where it is just starting to catch on.
Good Luck  and I hope you can someday be headache free!

i would really read about what is called a psuedo tumor its not a real tumor it mimics atumor and gives u the same symptoms as an actual tumor int causes pressure in your head and it pushes against your eye sockets and also have you had a lumbar punctur test it messures the fluid and pressure in your back going to your head and if youy have it and your pressur is high then further testing will be needed and then u can b treated for it its not life threatening but it does give u the feeling of a none stop migraine headache hope you find out whats going on

Have you had an mri? If not try to talk your dr into ordering one! Its very possible there is something else going on besides just miagraines.

Yes, I am going to talk to my doctor tomorrow. I've been talking to him off and on, and he's been trying different meds. But I'm to the point now, where obviously meds aren't going to work, and I want more done. I say there has to be SOMETHING that is causing this. Even though I know they say that at times there is no cause for migraines. I'm hoping to find someone like me, that has found the reasoning.

Thank you for the info!!!!!

I would say that it's definitely time to see your doctor if you haven't already. I have a friend w/ basilar migraine whose speech is effected. It's not something that you want to ignore.

As for the constant pain, I sympathize. I've had the same migraine for over 8 years now. We do learn to cope as best as we can. But it's still smart to look for help when something new crops up.
