Migraines and MS

I know about RRMS, RPMS, PPMS, etc.  But, I read that there could be as many as ten distinctions rather than just four.  What are they, if this is true.

Also, I was told that there are at least thirty MS diseases.  Is there someplace I can go to read about all the types on line or could somebody give us a list here so that we can try to research them.  I was told I probably had an atypical form, but no name and I would like to proactively educate myself for my big appointment.

Also, I have severe unrelenting daily migraines which I was told could be due to an occupational environmental exposure I received.  I have been unable to get the exposure information.  I have spinal lesions and daily migraines since the exposures.  No preventatives have worked.  Using triptans, narcotics, toradol, and antiemetics depending on the situation.  Sometimes IV Toradol and narcotics for the migraines.  Brain MRI read as normal due to age (and possibly migraines) even though I was told lesions there.  Have posterior and central cervical spinal cord lesions.  Rest of spinal cord untested. Eye exam relatively normal.  Vision and cognitive problems and other problems initially considered due to migraine.  Now, diagnosed with MS.  Told headaches was definitely migraines (status?) and not related to MS.  I have read that people do get migraines with MS.  What about migraines?  I was told it appears I have trigeminal or pons involvement due to my facial numbness.  Any input would be appreciated.  I now have intention tremors, polyvision, possibly palinopsia (now decreasing?),am falling, feel weak, and foggy--especially with migraines.  Thank you!

Hey, just wanted to ask how your are doing today.  I know this is alot to deal with.  The Big question for you as you have said before is the MS causeing the migraines.  The most important question (my opinion), did you ever get Migraines before the MS.  Also, I would do some searches on Montel Williams MS.  He is really pushing the medical community on MS and doing a huge amount of fund raising for MS.  He actually went to 20 different doctors and was very aggressive until he found the answers.  He actually is only functioning well because of taking medical marijuana, sorry I have terrible spelling - I have relied too much on spell checker.  Now the marijuana thing I read online and it was signed by him but it was the internet so take this with a grain of salt.  I have the highest respect for Montel Williams and the work he does.  Also, if you have an insurance plan that lets you self refer to a neurosurgeon, I would and have him look at all your scans - especially your cervical spine issues - can be a total headache trigger.  Good Luck and take care.

Hi,
According to the intensity and frequency of its generated symptoms, as well as its rate of progression, multiple sclerosis can be categorized in two distinctive groups: the relapsing-remitting type and the chronic-progressive type. The chronic-progressive variety of multiple sclerosis can be further categorized as primary-progressive, secondary-progressive and progressive-relapsing.
Special cases of the disease with non-standard behavior have also been described although many researchers believe they are different diseases. These cases are sometimes referred to as borderline forms of multiple sclerosis and are Neuromyelitis optica (NMO), Balo concentric sclerosis, Schilder's diffuse sclerosis and Marburg multiple sclerosis.

You could read up the clinical features and symptoms at the following link -

What occupational exposure are you talking about here? The most clear clinical picture would be given by your neurologist ofcourse including answers to all your queries. Goodluck.
