Is there any link between neurofibromatosis and mirgraines? I've been getting them every since I had my craniofacial operation when I was 17. I am now 31 and sometimes they get real bad. I have a few neurofibromas along my scalp that I can feel whenever I comb my hair, and was just curious.
Do you have a close follow up with your neurologist? When was your last scan done?
Headaches any be associated with neurofibromatosis and its presence or increase in severity warrants further evaluation . I do not want to make you feel anxious about this , but your neurologist should know about your symptoms so that proper evaluation be made to determine why your headaches are becoming more severe .Also, have your blood pressure evaluated. An opthalmologic consult may also help to rule out any involvement of eye structures.
Do keep us posted regarding your physician's advice.
I went to the neurologist yesterdayand they have now ordered and MRI brain scan set for 3:30 this afternoon. They also gave me nortryptaline and maxalt to take instead of the fioricet that I've been taking. The maxalt worked right away, but I did wake up later on last night with a headache again. I go back to the neurologist next month for a follow-up.
