Neck/Headache/Vision Problems

by IRENE1904, Oct 24, 2007 12:50PM
I was in a car crash in 2005 and have suffered ever since with neck problems.  For the last twelve months I have been suffering with a problem in my right eye - blurred vision, lights and fuzziness which makes me feel like I want to fall over.  I also suffer with terrible headaches which have been getting worse over the last couple of months and interrupt my sleep. I am getting approximately four hours sleep a night and pain killers don't last. Physio helps a little but it doesn't go away. I have tried wheat bags, memory pillows, ibrupfrofen gel, pain killers, tiger balm, hot baths - and my doctor actually prescribed sleeping tablets at one point but I do not want to become dependent on pain killers and sleeping tablets.  Can you offer any suggestions. I am waiting for an appointment on the NHS (UK) for an 'eye' test - but have had two of these privately which do not show any damage to my eye.  But you know the score - GP knows best! Please help.
Regards,
Irene

Hi.

It would probably be best to have yourself checked by specialists, namely an ophthalmologist and a neurologist, to undergo a more complete evaluation of your symptoms and clinical presentation.

There are many possible causes of your symptoms and this would include referred pain from the neck injury, nerve impingement, migraines, tension headache, sinus headache, glaucoma, etc. As such, it would be difficult to ascertain any of these until a proper examination is done.

Good luck.
