New Headache

by veryhealthy, Aug 13, 2009 04:01PM
Last week the back of head started to hurt it felt like a lot of pressure behind my ears. In the middle of the pressure points it was tender to the touch. This went on for about 2 days and then I started to develope a dull headache on top and to the front. This headache and pressure has been continuing for 7 days now and it never seems to go away until I go to sleep. When I wake up about an hour later it starts all over again. I went to the doctor and she said I had a little fluid built up in my ears so she put me on Zythromician. I have been taking this antibiotic for 3 days and there is still no relief. The headache is mild to moderate and it does not respond to Tylenol or Motrin. I just had an MRI done today but I probably won't get the results for a few days. I'm not sure if I should go the ER or not but I'm concerned about aneurysims and the so called warning leak headache. Does anyone have any advice?

If it makes you feel any better I've had headaches non stop for almost a year now. They came on suddenly and vary in intesity but are pretty much constant.  I've had MRI's, blood work etc etc and nothing explains them really. My neurologist ended up doing a lumbar puncture/spinal tap and ended up diagnosing me with intracranial hypertension. You might google it and see if any of your symptoms match.  Just a thought although I hope for your sake its not what you have.  It's no fun!  Good luck and I think if your doctor was really concerned she would have sent you to the ER.  I'm told usually headaches are from somthing other than a tumor.
