New Pain I don't Understand

by funneverends, Jul 25, 2009 07:33PM
I have suffered with migraines my entire life. I use prescription medication to deal with them and sometimes medication does not help them. Since I am getting older I do have less then I use too. However, during the past two weeks I have had a shooting throbbing pain on the back lower left side of my head. It is to the right of my ear. I have no other symptoms. I  have tried taking medication for the pain but nothing helps. I have had a wisdom tooth pulled on the left side and I don't know if this has anything to do with it. The pain does not go to my face or ear. However, it is quite painful and sometimes when I swallow the pain will come. Thank you.

Hi,

The pain does seem to be related to wisdom tooth removal. This condition can cause shooting pain behind the ears, throat pain, face pain and head pressure. One may have one or all of these symptoms. I would suggest you to wait for couple of days, if the pain does not go away, please check with your dentist.
