Occipital neuraliga

Occipital neuraliga

On October 30, 2009 I got what I thought was a migraine. 40 days later I was being given a shot in the back of my head to relieve occipital neuralgia. Over that 40 days I spent way too much time in the ER and at my doctors office getting way too many IV's, infusions at an infusion clinic and took more prescription pain meds than any normal person should ever have to injest. Its the worst pain I've ever felt in my entire life. Child birthand  passing a 9mm kidney stone were a breeze compared to this pain.
Nothing they do makes the pain go away completely. Some days are better than others but there is always pain. I take Indomethacin twice a day, neurontin (also taken for my fibromyalgia) and depending on the pain, I'll take either trexamet or imitrex.
Today I"m in so much pain that nothing is helping and I'm worried that  a trip to the ER may be coming.
I'm so frustrated and so tired of being in so much pain.
Any suggestions or ideas???????

Hi,
How are you? If injections and prescription medications do not help, you can also try complementary and alternative medicine such as biofeedback, self-hypnosis and other relaxation techniques. These have been effective to some headache sufferers who also had ineffective medical management. Take care and do keep us posted.
