Pain in top of head and dizziness

For the clast couple of days I have had a strange pain at the top of my head, coupled with a feeling of dizziness and occasional nausea.  When I touch the top of my head it feels tender, as it might if I had got it sunburnt (but I haven't).  Although I do sometimes get headaches I haven't had one like this before, and it doesn't respond to pain killers either.  I did wonder about sinuses or ear infection, as my ears especially feel like they are somehow blocked (as they might when on a plane), but obviously at the back of my mind is the worry of a brain tumour.  I can't get a doctor's appointment for over a week, so am desperately trying to find some answers

Hi,

There can be many causes of pain on top of head and dizziness like high blood pressure, low blood sugar, dehydration, anemia, poor eyesight and of course sinusitis and ear infections.
Malignant causes like brain tumors also cannot be ruled out completely but usually they present with other symptoms also like nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, slurred speech, muscle weakness etc.
Do keep us posted!

Hello Dear,

You could have migraine where the symptoms are-
• Facial pain
• Nausea and abdominal pain
• Vomiting
• Sensitivity of light
• Motor symptoms like hemiparesis
• Skin pallor

•Treatment includes- Ibuprofen- First-line treatment for mild to moderately severe migraine events.
• Aspirin - Treats mild to moderately severe pain and headache
• Dihydroergotamine - Alpha-adrenergic blocking agent with direct stimulating effect on smooth muscle of peripheral and cranial blood vessels, depresses central vasomotor centers.
• You should do exercise and sleep well.
• Diet: Avoid dietary triggers of migraine.
Sinusitis and inner ear may also cause dizziness, you should consult a physician and rule out these.
