Pain on right side of face

I woke up one morning feeling extreme pain around the right side of my nose and under the eye (I was also lying on my right side).  It was literally throbbing.  I had to get up and walk around.  After that the pain and pressure eased up and I took a pain reliever.  I went back to bed and laid on my left side, the right side pain went away, but the congestion went to the left side.  I stay congested all year long.  Sometimes I have an annoying type of pain in the top of my head that seems to be related to the congested.  I was diagnosed back in Feb with sinusitis but I took antibiotics.  Can this still be sinusitis or allergies or something more serious?

Hi,

This is still a bout of sinusitis. I suggest that you have this assessed by an ENT specialist. Sinusitis, ear problems and problems with nasal passages may cause headaches.

Drink plenty of water everyday. Do not rely on decongestants alone. Do not use decongestants for longer than 3 days as this may only worsen your symptoms. Eat well and try to stay in well ventilated places.

An ENT consult is indicated. The headaches will likely resolve once your sinusitis is managed.
