For the past 4 days now ive been getting throbbing headaches off and on. they switch off, sometimes they are on the right side, sometimes on the left side of my head. people tell me to drink more water but I drink atleast 6 glasses a day, some people say its from tooo much caffiene, so I stopped drinking coffee and yet it still hurts.
should this be a concern??
Hi,
How are you? One-sided throbbing headaches are usually associated with migraine headache. Rest, ice pack, avoidance of triggers and pain medications may help provide relief. Aside from caffeine, there are other possible triggers such as weather, food, and other activities. There is a headache tracker here in the forum that may help. If it persists, you may need to see your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Hi,
Thanks for the update. Chronic daily headaches may also be attributed to primary headaches as mentioned above. Migraine headaches respond well to both abortive and preventive medications. Try to avoid over-the-counter pain medications since these can also lead to rebound headaches. At this point, checked with your doctor or be referred to a neurologist for proper evaluation. Take care always.
