Persistent headache w/ inflamed blood vessels under eye/temple

I've been having headaches since April 07.  They last all day and are primarily localized in the right temple, though I feel it in the left temple and forehead a bit.  Along with that, in the right temple and under the eye the blood vessels are inflamed always.

I had an MRI, and that was negative, and I'm taking imitrex (1 day on, 3 days off)  and that's doing nothing.  I'm wondering if anyone has an idea what this is or what might help.  I have no idea why the doctor I went to is thinking its migraines as I have no light sensitivity or any of the other symptoms that usually go with migraines.   It's just a constant pain, mostly where I feel the inflamed blood vessels.  The doctor I saw wants me to go to a neurologist, but after spending money on these things (no insurance) I'm all out of money to spend on this.

Thanks and thanks ...

Not everybody gets the same symptoms with migraines. I know that mine are migraines and when I get them, I get swollen blood vessels in the same area that I can actually feel pulsating. I also have the same problem with not having insurance. It's terrible. Hopefully, when we get a new president that really cares about us, we will all have insurance and that's if we're lucky! (lol) Maybe you just need to give the medicine more time. Some medicines take a few weeks to really start working.

Imitrex isnt something you can take daily and at 500 dollars for 20, I can understand why.  I'm going to try peppermint oil and lavendar oil for a few days now (aromatherapy), and when that doesn't work, its off to another doctor to waste more money.  I wish I knew why those blood vessels are ALWAYS inflamed.

It is true that not all migraine symptoms are the same. When I get migraines I take 1 Axert and 800ml of ibuprophen and then put 2 "boo boo bags" on my forehead, eyes and around the base of my skull. Boo boo bags are something my mother makes. It's a cotton bag of dried corn and you microwave it for 2 minutes. The axert restores my vision, the ibuprophen helps the pain and the boo boo bags loosen up my muscles. It couldn't hurt to try. Hope that helps!
