Pseudotumor Cerebri and Pineal Cysts.

Hi everyone. Im 26 years old and was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri in 2000. After three Lumbar Peritoneal shunt surgeries to save my vision, I became a patient at the Mayo Clinic and began seeing the neurologist. The neurologist suggested I have a new shunt placed. In July 2007 I had a VP shunt placed.
During my testing at Mayo, the dr's discovered a Pineal Cyst. However, they were more concerned with saving my vision so we didn't even discuss the cyst.
Now I am 4 weeks post-op and all of my symptoms have returned full force.
I am beginning to think that its the Pineal Cyst thats causing these issues.
From my understanding, VP shunts have a very very low failure rate.
I know from my research that Pineal Cysts mimic the symptoms of PTC, but I can't find any definitive answer as to how MUCH they mimic the symptoms.

So I'm sitting here with a massive headache and nothing to take for it and I'm wondering if anyone can guide me in the right direction. Maybe I really DON'T have PTC, maybe its been the Pineal Cyst this whole time.

I don't want to be captain obvious here ... Be sure that you aren't being over shunted, meaning pressure is too low. That's what happened to me. My ventricles collapsed because of it. The headaches can be just as bad as IIHP

I have been dealing with a PTC for many yrs now, I know zero about a Pineal Cyst. I have refused shunts both in my spine and in the eye area. For many yrs I took a steroid for the thing, about a yr ago i found a natural product called Phenocane. At that time the pain was hard to bear. I over heard the store owner say it worked as well or better then a steriod.Yesterday and today are the 1st time i have been shut down from working from the pressure. Try it what have you got to lose?
