SSRI short term to get rid of headache

by mom2makinlee, Nov 22, 2008 03:15PM
Can I take Celexa for just a little while to try and get rid of a headache?  I got off the med 3 or 4 months ago and for the past 2 months I have had a headache with persistent neck muscle stiffness and pain.  Can I take like 5 mg for a few months just to make the headache go away and then stop?  I have read that SSRIs help with tension/migraine headaches and was thinking that the reason this headache wont go away might be because I got off the med to begin with.  Then again if I take it and the headache goes away I wonder if it will come right back when I stop the med again.

Any advice?  Should I try this?  I have been taking 800mg ibeprofen twice a day for 2 weeks now and it is tearing my stomach up so I really would like to try something else.

Thanks
