Sever Migraines

My migraines are getting worse and my meds aren't working. I'm always naueas and in pain deprived of sleep and my doctor just keeps  putting me one something different. I get numbness and tingling in my fingers toes I get weak knees and sometimes tend to faint if I stand up to fast. I've had MRI's CAT scans and x-rays they just keep telling me I'm going to have to deal with this for the rest of my life and its all from my car accident. The last x-ray showed some bones in my spine deteariating. Is there any other test or good med that will help stop the migranes. I can't take them much longer?

Hi,
How are you? The post-traumatic headache syndrome is commonly observed after injuries to the head or neck. In some cases, headaches may be a problem for months or years. Patients with a pre-existing headache or migraine problem  or those with strong family history of migraine are at increased risk.  The headache tracker here in the forum may help her identify possible triggers. It is important that you avoid these as well. The medications she took previously were stronger pain medicines and is not advisable to have them for prolonged periods.Cervical spondylosis, on the other hand, is usually caused by chronic wearing away  of the cervical spine and may lead to nerve compression over time. Aside from neck pain and loss of sensation, headaches, particularly in the back of the head may also be present. These symptoms my get better  with conservative measures such as medications, physical therapy, and cortisone injections. If the pain does not respond to these measures, or there is a loss of movement or feeling, surgery may be done to relieve the pressure on the nerves or the spinal cord. Check with your doctor for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.

Do this pranayam twice daily and it will help the migraine. Come back to report how you feel after 21 days. The benefit is gradual, so keep doing the pranayam.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
