I'm 25 years old, and 14 weeks, 4 days along in my 3rd pregnancy. Recently (about the past 6weeks) I have been having severe headaches on and off (about 3-4 times a week). I take a Tylenol, cold compress, and rest and sometimes it goes away... Other times it comes back being more severe or less (never know which). Its usually occurring on the right side- near my temple- anytime during the day. I have had a few concussions in my life, but nothing serious and all have gotten CAT Scans/MRI Scans and came back normal. No major trauma as I'm aware. I have never had these problems before, nor in any pregnancy. Doctor says its normal, but id like a second opinionfrom someone who may have a little more history.... Help please?!
I'm sorry to hear about these headache attacks during your present pregnancy. It is good that the initial imaging studies were normal and you were able to have this checked already. This suggests primary headache origin such as migraine headache which usually occurs in one side and may present with other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound. Triggers may be responsible and in your case, hormone changes during this time may be a factor. Continue your medications as prescribed and monitor also your blood pressure. Prenatal consult is highly recommended. Take care and do keep us posted.
