Severe Headaches of Unknown Cuase

I am suffering from severe headaches / Migraines and neck pain. My headaches are caused by different things, either by my neck, or my shoulder to my neck to my head, or my temples and bone above eyes, or from the centre of my head. My neck is most of the time sore and sensitive and preferably I have to constantly keep it moving, even if i want to sleep. When I lie still with my neck in one position for too the pain just gets worse and worse, and most morning if i managed to get some sleep i am in even more pain. It originates from either the right or left side of the lower neck by the base of the skull or sometimes from both places, or from my right shoulder, then to my neck then causing severe headaches. I have been in pain 24/7 for the last few years, also went for all the tests and scans and everything, but all came back normal. The only way i can stand the pain during the day is to overdose on painkillers every day, about 3 to 4 times the recommended doses, and these are the strongest painkillers i can find. And this doesn’t always help, sometimes I can drink as much pain killer as I can but it does nothing about the pain. I haven’t had a social life in years and its destroying my work also.

I have been looking into the different Nerve's that join in the neck and back, and this does answer some questions. I am also looking into Acupuncture. Then also more severely there is a procedure where you can have the nerves in your neck (and upper back and shoulders) surgically cut, thus you won’t feel the pain anymore. I know this isn’t the solution as this will just mask the real problem, but if no one can help or even just say for sure what the cause is, then is seems like a good option, just for the pain to go away to try and have a normal live as long as possible. I have been suffering for 21 years now since I was 12 years old, and it’s just getting worse and worse.

Any help or advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yes, just to add to my above Question:

my headaches are mostly of a pounding nature, either from the base of my neck straight through to the front of my head and to the temples, or my entire head is pounding. Sometimes its a sharp (permanent) stabbing pain in my neck at the base of my skull and also shooting to the front and to the rest of my head, although not always.

when i climb up stairs everytime i step with my right foot my neck scratches a bit, when i go down the stairs everytime a step with my left foot my neck scratches.

90% of the time when i turn my neck to either left or right side then my neck scratches, and then simultaneously i will tilt my head slightly back while turned left or right, and this will cause some more serious scratching.

My eyes are always very light sensitive, and most of the time i am sound sensitive (basically when the headache is becomming more than i can mentally ignore)

my right shoulder between the shoulder and the shoulder blade is 85% of the time in pain, and my right arm is slightly numb/weak because of this feeling, sometimes this pain moves over to my left shoulder, but is mainly concentrated on my right side.

My face starts getting very hot when the pain gets too bad. Dunking my face/head a some ice water makes it feel better but only for the duration my head is in the water, as soon as i remove it from the water, it heats up instantly again.

i also have some dizzy spells, but not sure if this is dueto the pain, or the amount of painkillers or both, my guess is both.

Taking a reasonably hot bath will cause a pounding sensation in my head. Also when i am just sitting or lying down and getting up, will trigger a pounding effect, and if i dont control my breathing and breath very slow and deep it will trigger a serious headache within minutes

when i have a severe headache/migraine that kind of incapicitates me for a day or two, then i have some memory loss for those days and the day before it got so bad of things that happened or conversations i had or heard.

I believe my headaches is caused by number of things, that i am suffering from different types of headaches, and the doctors i have been to have been unable/unwilling to help.
