Severe Headaches

by phlo8810, Nov 05, 2009 07:00PM
For the past couple weeks I was getting headaches every day in late afternoon and night.  4 days ago I got a severe headache in the morning and it lasted all day.  Next day went to work and still throbbing, every move I make hurts, eyes hurt etc.  Went home from work early and it was just paralyzing.  Couldn't do anything but close my eyes.  Took my temp and it was 102, but not for long, maybe 12hours(total time with temp). That was 2 days ago and these headaches are still here.  My hair hurts when I touch it as well as my head.  Went to the doctor and he said I probably have h1n1.  Gave me a zpack, tamaflu, and zinc pills.  Nothing has worked.  Took excedrin migraine and it makes it less painful but I can still feel it and know it will be back when the excedrin wears off.  What can I do? I leave for vacation in 4 days and these headaches will not be fun to deal with then.  Thanks in advance

Hi,
How are you? Migraine headaches are the second most common type of primary headache. Migraines may be caused by changes in the trigeminal nerve or imbalances in brain chemicals such as serotonin. Continue your medication and it is also important that you determine your migraine triggers. You can have a headache diary where you can write possible triggers. Examples of which are hormonal changes,  or hormonal medications, certain foods, stress, changes in the environment,  and certain medications. Discuss this with your doctor for proper management. Take care and best regards.
