Severe headache behind mostly right eye when coughing

I have had symptoms of hypoglycemia and migraine for 16 years. I recently gained a lot of weight and found out my thyroid is low and I have primary open angle glaucoma, plus corneal tear erosions. These should no be causing my pain in the orbits, mainly right side, though. When I cough, I lose my urinary continence, violently, even if I just left the ladie's room, and it hurts behind my right eye and sometimes my whole nose bone, and now, beneath my skull, both sides on my neck. My eye socket feels like it is inflamed and raw. The cough makes me so dizzy I almost pass out. This is a violent illness, and I have just finished a full round of antibiotics. I have looked and cannot find the answers. Also, just in front of my ear pops when I chew or manipulate it like TMJ, but there is no pain. Was suspecting possible salivary gland stone, instead, since i removed 4 sublingual glandstones many years ago, myself. I am 46, not 76. This is ridiculous. I can't leave the house. I wear sunglasses indoors. Light hurts my eyes and head. Noise upsets me. Any idea what could cause this?

Hi,
No harm done, don't worry. It can be very over whelming at times, but always stay positive. Try to live one day at a time and not to worry too much of what the future holds. Remember, we are just here if you need to vent any anxiety. Take care and best regards.

Oh, shhot! Huge misunderstanding.I know. I didn't mean what you had written. Oops!:) I meant that when I actually put all of my real symptoms together, seeing all that I have written, I know if I do live 20 years, they're going to be hard years.

Hi,
I didn't mean to frighten you or something like that. Healthwise, being vigilant with your symptoms and checking in with your attending may be very helpful, not only in enjoying life to the fullest and even extending your lifespan to 20 or more years. With healthy life style- exercise, healthy diet and managing any condition present, it is possible. Best regards.

Thank you, Rowena. Overall, my spirit feels good, but when I read all of this, knowing all well how rotten it is, I know my lifespan will not be long. Maybe another 20, if I'm lucky. Probably more like 10 or 15. My giddyup is just broke. lol Thanks, girls.

Hi,
Thank you for the update. Pitting edema can be attributed to systemic diseases or by local conditions involving just the affected extremities. Systemic diseases include the heart, liver, and kidneys. Edema occurs because  the body retains too much salt which causes the body to retain water, hence, edema. Local conditions such as varicose veins and inflammation of the veins of the deep veins of the legs  must also be ruled out. A referral to a gynecologist may also help rule out hormonal changes that is usually age-related as well. Take care always.

I wrote this incorrectly. "I called radiation, and they said they had only done an MRI on my abdominal area." I meant to say a ct scan.

Forgot one more thing. I have had deep pitting edema in my shins for many years and my shinbones hurt a lot.

Regarding other symotoms; when I was 28, I went into a program at a now defunked Mental institution. I just felt like I needed some time to myself to sort some things out, and nobody would give me my space. This was in 1992. They gave me meds, which I cannot remember the names, and they insisted upon me getting a chest x-ray. They said everybody gets one. Results came back mild emphysema. I have always suspected the x-ray or meds. I have been a smoker since the age of 10. Anyway, it was raining outside, and I went out to smoke at a table under an awning. Suddenly, I felt a horrendous ache that began at my knees, working it's way upwards until it reached my head, and that was my very first migraine. At the same time the pain was traveling up, it was also traveling down. It made it to my very feet. I have had these very same aches like this in my muscles, joints, and long bones, regularly, every since. I do not take meds for it as I also have severe, chronic GERD. I take Dexilant for it. I used to cry and be debilitated from the pain. All I could do was lay down. It isn't fibromyalgia. I do not meet the criteria. It doesn't hurt to touch anywhere. I cannot think of any other symptoms, but, when I write this, I think to myself, I am one tough old biddy for putting up with all of this. I still play on the floor with my grandkids. These pain attacks take less than 5 minutes to become fully locked and loaded. I know it the second it begins and have gotten quite used to it. I only cry from it about once a year when I get fed up.

I used to be able to go into a backbend contortion, walk through my legs, and come out doing the eagle splits. I did backflips 2 weeks after having my 4th child at age 27, and could still do the contortions. A girl once landed on top of the girl who was on top while we were doing the elephant walk, and I heard every single bone in my back crack. It didn't hurt, although it most likely would have killed somebody who wasn't used to contortions. I am slower to heal than I used to be, and can't do very much. The chronic aching in my bones makes that like "nuh uh." I don't know if I bruise more easily than others, but I don't think so. I will ask Dr. about MRI, but he will most likely poopoo me, the way he always has. I've had the same Dr. since 1996. He never listens, and I caught him red handed lying to me about getting a pelvic ct scan. He said my results showed 2 cysts the first time, but the second came out just fine after getting my gallbladder removed. I felt like he was deliberately lying, or unable to read the test results, so I went on my hunch. I called radiation, and they said they had only done an MRI on my abdominal area. I no longer trust him, but he is out here in the country less than a mile away, and I don't have to wait more than 1 day for an appointment. I will say that I used to feel a sharp sting in my legs and rub it because it would itch. When I had a closer look, there was always a giant lump of pooled blood. As it dispersed, it would form a massive bruise. That doesn't happen anymore, though.

Hi,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? This could be caused by exertion headaches which present with pain during or following physical  or passive exertion like sneezing, coughing, or bowel movement. If the pain while coughing is recent, it is best that you check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Direct clinical examination and further tests such as imaging studies will help with the diagnosis. Take care and do keep us posted.

Hi...I am not a Dr, but would suggest a Brain MRI....it may show what is going on since ur eye r involved as well as headaches and  the dizziness.

U should also get ur BP checked....

may I ask, r u doubled jointed, slow to heal and do u bruise easy?

It sounds like u may have a connective tissue disorder as well as some autoimmune  issues.

Have u had a urodynamics test to see how ur bladder is functioning?

Good luck and do post an update
