Severe vertigo after lumbar puncture: will the dura mater eventually heal on itself?

Thousands of people share there postpunction headache stories on the internet. People who suffered month after month. So my question is what happened with those people. Does the dura mater eventually heal after a csf-leak without a bloodpatch? After 26 days I still suffer  severe vertigo, neckpain and pain in the area around the puncture zone. Mentally this is really hard and I'm feeling the earth slipping away.

Ik rested for almost 2 weeks! After the puncture I also stayed flat for 24 houres. So you healed without the bloodpatch? You didn't suffer from post-dural-punctional headache?

Hi,.,...if u r 26 days out I would think u may need the blood patch if it has not healed yet....when I had a leak from an epidural I was told they would wait 5 days b4 doing a blood patch...that was almost 30 yrs ago.....

I was instructed to lay flat and keep hydrated...not sure what u have been doing in the 25 days, but some activities can keep the leak from healing.....

I also know some that have had the leak go on for a lot longer b4 a blood patch was attempted...

Try laying down, and resting and keep hydrated with water.....and if that does not help call ur Dr and see if they will try the patch.

  Good luck.
