Shunt Surgery with Unknown Autoimmune issues

I am looking for information from people who have had a vp shunt.  My daughter has pseudotumor cerebri and since November she has had 13 lps and 4 blood patches due to leaks with opening pressures as high as 44 1/2.  The medications are making her go into metabolic acidosis and the doctors are out of options.  She has no vision damage thanks to her having Ehlers Danlos syndrom (syndrome).  Her neurologist sent her for another opinion and a fresh look at her case and this doctor is recommending a shunt.  Trying to decide.  She has pseudotumor cerebri but also reflex neurovascular dystrophy (rnd), ehlers danlos syndrom (syndrome), chronic migraines, and an unknown autoimmune issue.  Has anyone with autoimmune issues ever gotten a shunt?????  Thank you to anyone who takes the time to give me information.
