Sinus headache for 2 weeks

I have had a sinus headache everyday now for almost two weeks now, its worrying me as i am very paranoid, its bad somedays somedays not so bad. I am assuming its sinus's because of pressure, mine is mostly in the forhead area above the eyes, now the thing is, i have no other side effects besides the headache so i guess its not an infection or it could be becasue i have had theses headaches for two weeks now, i am moved to a new city in canada, so here they wont accept my provinces health cards so as of the moment i can not see a doctor because i cant afford to, and i am just hoping this couldnt be something serious, i think its going away, but tomorrow it might be back
is the headaches lasting this long normal for sinus headaches can taht happen, or could it be something more serious, or maybe just a sinus infection and i need antibiotics for?

Thanks for the help

Barry

Hi Barry,
How are you? Diagnosis of a sinus headache is through a physical examination done by your doctor. Sinusitis can be caused by colds, allergies, bacterial or fungal infections, an impaired immune system, or structural problems in the nasal cavity. The resulting pressure changes in the sinuses can trigger headaches. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Antibiotic treatment is indicated for infection.  As the sinus infection clears up, the sinus headaches should disappear. At this point, over-the-counter pain relievers, decongestants and saline nasal spray may help provide relief. Drinking plenty of waster also helps.

Take care and do keep us posted.

If you are having sinus headaches there is a simple inexpensive cure which I discovered quite by accident. I have allergies, asthma and chronic bronchitis, To lessen the constant coughing caused by thick mucus, I decided to try a natural mucolytic (mucus thinner), vitamin B5. First I took 500 mg. daily and felt better. Then I took 1000 mg. It worked like a charm on the bronchitis, which now hardly bothers me at all, but what also happened was that I got rid of my sinus headaches. I must have blown my nose for an hour and then, suddenly, my head was clear. Doctors often don't know of these simple remedies, All they know are expensive prescription medicines touted by pharmaceutical companies (that don't work half as well and often have side effects), or nasty procedures which only clear up the condition temporarily. There are no side effects at all to vitamin B5. I will  make a separate posting about this remedy.
