Sinus headache?

If you have a headache where your eyes hurt and your face hurts is that considered a sinus headache? I'm just wondering why I get these a lot and what I can do to avoid them.

Thanks.I don't normally take a lot of otc meds, only when I have a killer headache like I did yesterday.
I had my eyes tested last month so that all checked out. I have a feeling it's lack of sleep, maybe a little dehydration (I have to watch that) and or something I ate maybe. My husband thought it was because I didn't drink any coffee yesterday morning. He noticed that I didn't brew any, but I told him that I did have some tea. I've switched between coffee and tea before but I don't know if it could have been a caffeine withdrawal. If so, then that's not good either. I didn't think I was that addicted! I only drink about 3 cups of coffee or tea in the morning.
Thankfully, it's gone now! I did wake up at 4am and it was still there but took some more Advil and laid back down till 9:30am and it seems to have finally gone away. Thank God!

I agree with the doctor, you'll be best to see a doctor and have them examine you.

Something in your last comment triggered something for me: do you take lots of OTC pain meds? I'm asking because if you're taking a lot, and then the pain gets worse, so you take more, you could be feeding a rebound cycle. I get those, and have had to swear off ibuprofen, aspirin, and acetaminophen. As long as I stay away from those, I do better.

good luck,

Poor sleep makes sense. I don't think I sleep very well. Now if only I could fix that! The headache is still there. I don't think I can take any more pain medication tonight so I guess I'll just try to go to bed and see if sleep will help. Thanks doctor.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
The pain in your forehead region along with tiredness of eyes can be due to refractive errors of the eye like myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, and eye conditions like glaucoma and cataract.
It can also be due to sinusitis but this will cause other symptoms of sinusitis too.
Poor sleep pattern and sleep disturbances are the other factors.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

It's still there even though I've taken Advil. It's mostly in my eyes and forehead area. I'm wondering if dehydration or certain food can trigger it? I'm just trying to figure out why I get these. When I do, they usually last all day no matter how much pain medication I take.

It could be a sinus headache, or it could be something like trigeminal neuralgia, where the trigeminal nerve is being aggravated.
